Curriculum Statement

'Where nurture and curiosity inspire a love of learning.’

At Cubert School we seek to provide an ambitious, well-planned, curriculum which motivates and inspires a life-long and deep love of learning. At the core of our curriculum provision, driven by curiosity, aspiration and diversity, is the National Curriculum and the progression of key skills for each subject taught, ensuring our pupils receive a progressively challenging and engaging education, removing barriers and inspiring futures. We celebrate the unique character of our community, location and our pupils in a multi-cultural and diverse world.

Intent:

A safe and nurturing environment promotes aspiration for all.

Children will have a love of learning with an independent desire to be curious, explore and self-motivated, excelling both academically and personally.

An engaging, robust curriculum inspires and enables children to be active, life-long learners altering long term memory so they know more, remember more and can do more.

Implementation:

Teachers have a firm understanding of the schools’ curriculum, rich in language, knowledge and skills and what it means for their practice.

Subject Leaders are committed to working collaboratively to continually ensure the curriculum builds on prior learning and meets the needs of all pupils.

Reading is celebrated across all areas of the curriculum.

Impact:

Behaviour and attitudes are excellent, with pupils actively supporting the wellbeing of other pupils, contributing to the life of the school and wider community.

Pupils gain knowledge and skills for future learning and employment.
